InProspector doesn't automate anything on LinkedIn: it only reads the profile page you're already viewing in your browser, and you copy and send the message yourself, just like anything you'd type by hand. Unlike tools that send messages or connection requests on your behalf at scale, InProspector never takes any automatic action on your LinkedIn account.
No. InProspector first reads the LinkedIn profile you're viewing, picks the most relevant detail, then generates a message that's automatically checked (length, no clichés, consistent tone). Pasting a profile into ChatGPT does none of that.
Every message is automatically checked before it's shown to you: length, no generic filler phrases, tone consistent with what you picked. The whole point is to avoid the recognizable, generic AI style. You're always free to review and tweak it before sending, like any message that matters.
Click "Generate another message": InProspector reads the profile again and writes a new version, usually with a different hook. Like any AI, results can vary from one generation to the next: always review the message before sending. Each regeneration counts as one message against your monthly quota, same as an initial generation.
The connection note is the short text (300 characters max, LinkedIn's own limit) you can attach to a connection request, before the person has even accepted. Unlike a regular message, it never asks a question, since the recipient can't reply to it yet: InProspector writes one sentence giving a genuine reason to connect, always grounded in a real detail from the profile.
When you're on your own LinkedIn profile, InProspector can use it as your presentation in the messages it generates (role, company, summary). It never reads your profile in the background: only the page you're viewing at the moment you click is used, you're always asked to confirm before anything is saved, and you can clear it at any time.
The AI first picks a relevant angle (career path, current role, tenure, a recent signal...) before even searching for a specific fact, so it never starts from a random detail. If the angle doesn't work for you, "Generate another message" tries a different one.
InProspector never stores the profiles you visit or the messages it generates. Only anonymous usage stats (tone, language, purpose picked) are kept to improve the product. See our privacy policy for details.
It's stored only on your device, never published or shared, and used only to personalize your own messages. You can replace or clear it at any time from the widget's settings.
Uninstalling the extension immediately stops any use. To fully delete your account and the quota history tied to your email, contact support (link in the site's footer).

Not right now: InProspector is a browser extension, available only on desktop (Chrome and Chromium-based browsers). It doesn't work in the LinkedIn mobile app or in a mobile browser, neither of which support extensions.
Yes, on any Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome extensions (Edge, Brave, Opera...). It's not available on Safari or Firefox.
First check that the extension is enabled in your browser's settings, and that you're signed in with your Google account (extension icon in the toolbar). If the issue persists, reload the LinkedIn page or reinstall the extension.
