The product

Could using InProspector cause a problem with LinkedIn?

InProspector doesn't automate anything on LinkedIn: it only reads the profile page you're already viewing in your browser, and you copy and send the message yourself, just like anything you'd type by hand. Unlike tools that send messages or connection requests on your behalf at scale, InProspector never takes any automatic action on your LinkedIn account.

Is InProspector just a wrapper around ChatGPT?

No. InProspector first reads the LinkedIn profile you're viewing, picks the most relevant detail, then generates a message that's automatically checked (length, no clichés, consistent tone). Pasting a profile into ChatGPT does none of that.

Do the generated messages sound like they were written by AI?

Every message is automatically checked before it's shown to you: length, no generic filler phrases, tone consistent with what you picked. The whole point is to avoid the recognizable, generic AI style. You're always free to review and tweak it before sending, like any message that matters.

What if the generated message doesn't work for me?

Click "Generate another message": InProspector reads the profile again and writes a new version, usually with a different hook. Like any AI, results can vary from one generation to the next: always review the message before sending. Each regeneration counts as one message against your monthly quota, same as an initial generation.

What's a connection note, and how is it different from a message?

The connection note is the short text (300 characters max, LinkedIn's own limit) you can attach to a connection request, before the person has even accepted. Unlike a regular message, it never asks a question, since the recipient can't reply to it yet: InProspector writes one sentence giving a genuine reason to connect, always grounded in a real detail from the profile.

How does "Use my current LinkedIn profile" work?

When you're on your own LinkedIn profile, InProspector can use it as your presentation in the messages it generates (role, company, summary). It never reads your profile in the background: only the page you're viewing at the moment you click is used, you're always asked to confirm before anything is saved, and you can clear it at any time.

How does InProspector decide what to say about a profile?

The AI first picks a relevant angle (career path, current role, tenure, a recent signal...) before even searching for a specific fact, so it never starts from a random detail. If the angle doesn't work for you, "Generate another message" tries a different one.

Privacy and security

Is my data safe?

InProspector never stores the profiles you visit or the messages it generates. Only anonymous usage stats (tone, language, purpose picked) are kept to improve the product. See our privacy policy for details.

What happens to my profile captured via "Use my current LinkedIn profile"?

It's stored only on your device, never published or shared, and used only to personalize your own messages. You can replace or clear it at any time from the widget's settings.

How do I delete my account and data?

Uninstalling the extension immediately stops any use. To fully delete your account and the quota history tied to your email, contact support (link in the site's footer).

Account and pricing

How much does InProspector cost?

The free plan includes 20 messages per month, no card required. For heavier use, paid plans are available, commitment-free and cancellable in one click at any time. Current pricing and subscription management are available directly from the account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

From your account (accessible via the "Help, pricing and tips" link in the widget, or by clicking the extension icon), the "Manage subscription" link opens your billing portal, where you can cancel in one click, no questions asked.

Do I need an API key or any technical setup?

No. InProspector works right after installing it, no configuration or API key required: all the technical part is handled by our servers. Just sign in with your Google account.

Can I try it without any risk?

Yes: the free plan never asks for a card, and every paid plan is commitment-free, cancel anytime in one click.

Why does sign-in only work with a Google account, no password?

So you never have to create or store a password: Google securely authenticates your identity, and InProspector only accesses your email address, nothing else.

Technical

Does it work in my language?

Yes: messages can be generated in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian or Portuguese, regardless of the language of the profile you're viewing.

Does it work on mobile?

Not right now: InProspector is a browser extension, available only on desktop (Chrome and Chromium-based browsers). It doesn't work in the LinkedIn mobile app or in a mobile browser, neither of which support extensions.

Does it work on browsers other than Chrome?

Yes, on any Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome extensions (Edge, Brave, Opera...). It's not available on Safari or Firefox.

The widget isn't showing up on LinkedIn, what should I do?

First check that the extension is enabled in your browser's settings, and that you're signed in with your Google account (extension icon in the toolbar). If the issue persists, reload the LinkedIn page or reinstall the extension.
